School May be Out, but Healthy Meals are Still In

Alcorn School District Provides Free Lunches to Students the entire month of June

Corinth, MS, June 5 - 29 – The Alcorn County School District Food Service Department is excited to announce details for their 2017 Summer Meals Program. This summer, the food service department will provide breakfast and lunch to the children of Alcorn County at no charge.

In Alcorn School District many students are involved in the free and reduced-price school lunches and breakfasts. When school is out for the summer, those children do not receive this benefit. Our summer food service program helps close the gap and ensure that these kids have access to nutritious meals throughout the month of June.

Summer meals will take place at Kossuth Elementary Cafeteria, Alcorn Central Elementary Cafeterias and Biggersville Elementary Cafeterias. Breakfast will be served from 7:30 – 8:30 am and lunch will be served from 11:30 – 12:00 Monday – Thursday.

Children 18 and younger may receive free breakfast and lunch.

By offering this program we are continuing our support to our children and the community. This is an outreach program for our children and families which demonstrates that we care about their nutritional needs.
