Graphics
and Print Communications is a two-year secondary
vocational program designed to prepare a student for employment in commercial
printing or for further study in the field t the postsecondary level.

First
Year: Graphics
and Print Communications student is taught orientation, safety, basic
math and measurements, job planning and layout, desktop publishing,
basic photographic process, film developing and darkroom procedures,
stripping and plate-making, fundamentals of offset presswork, preparation
of offset presses for printing, and bindery operations. Emphasis is
on learning and mastering correct techniques.

Second
Year: Graphics and Print Communications student
reviews orientation and safety, and additional instruction on employability
skills, job planning and layout, desktop publishing, darkroom techniques,
offset master and plate-making, offset press operation, binding operations,
and machine repair and adjustment.
