How to Write an Abstract - Required

After finishing research and experimentation, you are required to write a (maximum) 250 word, one-page abstract.  This should be written on the Official Abstract and Certification Form as provided by the Science Fair Committee.

The abstract should include:

  1. purpose of the experiment
  2. procedures used
  3. data, and
  4. conclusions
  5. It may also include any possible research applications.

An abstract should not include:

  1. acknowledgments (including naming the research institution and/or mentor with which you were working), or
  2. work or procedures done by the mentor.
