RIENZI ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

OUR MISSION:

Our mission is to provide students with appropriate instruction in order to meet curriculum demands while addressing the learning styles of each student, enabling them to meet the challenges of a changing society.

OUR BELIEFS, BASED ON THE PHILOSOPHY AND GOALS
OF EDUCATION:

   1. All students can learn.
   2. Students' learning needs should be the primary focus of all decisions impacting the work of the
       school.
   3. Each student is a valued individual with unique physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs.
   4. Curriculum and instructional practices should incorporate a variety of learning activities to
       accommodate differences in learning styles.
   5. Students learn in different ways and should be provided with a variety of instructional approaches
      to support their learning.

PHILOSOPHY:

We believe the nature of the mind will continue to exist; therefore, the mind should be developed so that an individual will be knowledgeable, articulate, and critical. Believing this, then, necessitates that the mind be disciplined through education, subservient to the spiritual training one receives from his home and church.  The teacher is not only a dispenser of knowledge, but also one who facilitates the whole learning experience while the students are under her care by selecting materials that will challenge them in the realms of creative and critical thinking.
We believe in absolutes. We believe we may not understand or know all the absolutes that exist, but through the exercise of reason and will, through a disciplined mind and experiences in life, we can continually gain new insights into truth. No Truth Will Destroy Truth! the challenge comes in the discovery of truth and man's perception of truth.
We believe that there are five important goals of education:
   1. To develop the concepts for good character
    2. To develop the basic skills of reading, writing, mathematics, speaking, and reason
    3.
To develop critical thinking through the use of argument and reason
    4.
To develop the individual through a study of aesthetics
    5.
To develop skills which lead to effective management of resources, property, and money
